Important: The following items must be performed before attempting diagnosis by symptoms:

  1. Perform the Diagnostic System Check - Power Door Systems
  2. • There are no DTCs set.
    • The control module(s) can communicate via the serial data link.
  3. Review the system operation in order to familiarize yourself with the system functions. Refer to the following:
  4. •  Power Windows Description
    •  Power Door Locks Description
    •  Outside Mirrors Description
    •  Door Control Module Diagnostic Information

Visual/Physical Inspection

    • Inspect for aftermarket devices which could affect the operation of the power windows, power door locks, or power mirrors. Refer to Checking Aftermarket Accessories
    • Inspect the easily accessible or visible system components for obvious damage or conditions which could cause the symptom.

Intermittent

Faulty electrical connections or wiring may be the cause of intermittent conditions. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections

Refer to a symptom diagnostic procedure from the following list in order to diagnose the symptom:

    •  Heated Mirrors Inoperative - Left Side
    •  Heated Mirrors Inoperative - Right Side
    •  Power Door Lock Inoperative - Left Side Front
    •  Power Door Lock Inoperative - Right Side Front
    •  Power Mirrors Inoperative - Left Side
    •  Power Mirrors Inoperative - Right Side
    •  Power Window Inoperative - Left Side Front
    •  Power Window Inoperative - Right Side Front from Left Front Switch
    •  Power Window Inoperative - Right Side Front
    •  DOOR AJAR Message Inoperative
