Seatbelt Indicator Inoperative

Has the Indicator System Check been performed?

Go to Step 2

  1. Disconnect the seatbelt switch connector.
  2. Connect a DMM between terminal B of the seatbelt switch connector and ground.
  3. Measure CKT 150 for continuity to ground.

Is the resistance to ground less than the specified value?

0.5ohms

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 3

Locate and repair an open or a high resistance in CKT 150.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Indicator System Check

  1. Connect a fused jumper between terminals A and B of the seatbelt switch connector.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.

Does the Seatbelt Warning Indicator illuminate?

Go to Step 5

Replace the seatbelt switch. Refer to Seat Belt Buckle Replacement - Left Front .

Is the repair complete?

Go to Indicator System Check

  1. Disconnect the instrument cluster connector.
  2. Connect a DMM between terminal A of the seatbelt switch connector and terminal B2 of the instrument cluster connector.
  3. Measure CKT 238 for continuity between terminal A of the seatbelt switch connector and terminal B2 of the instrument cluster connector.

Is the resistance between these two connectors less than the specified value?

0.5ohms

Go to Step 8

Locate and repair an open or high resistance in CKT 238.

Is the repair complete?

Check the instrument panel cluster connector and seat belt warning indicator bulb for an open circuit.

Is the instrument panel cluster connector and seat belt warning indicator bulb in normal condition?

Go to Step 10

Go to Step 9

Repair the instrument panel cluster connector or replace the seat belt warning indicator bulb. Refer to Instrument Cluster Indicator Lamp Replacement .
