    Notice: Do not use belt dressing on the drive belt. Belt dressing causes the breakdown of the composition of the drive belt. Failure to follow this recommendation will damage the drive belt.

    Notice: Allowing the drive belt tensioner to snap into the free position may result in damage to the tensioner.

  1. Remove the accessory belt drive belt to gain access to the accessory drive belt tensioner. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  2. To gain access to the air conditioning (A/C) drive belt tensioner:
  3. 2.1. Remove the accessory belt drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
    2.2. Remove the A/C drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  4. Position a hex-head socket on the belt tensioner pulley bolt.
  5. Move the belt tensioner through it's full travel.
  6. • The movement should feel smooth.
    • There should be no binding.
    • The belt tensioner should return freely.
  7. If any binding is observed, replace the tensioner. Refer to Drive Belt Tensioner Replacement .
  8. Install the drive belt(s). Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
