Was the park brake diagnostic system check performed?

  1. With the Ignition in the RUN position.
  2. Disconnect the Park Brake Switch connector.
  3. Connect a jumper wire between the Park Brake Switch connector and ground.

Does the Brake indicator light illuminate?

--

Go to Step 3

Adjust or replace the Park Brake Switch. Refer to Parking Brake Indicator Switch Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

  1. Disconnect C1 of the ABS Control Module.
  2. Remove the IP Cluster.
  3. Connect a J 39200 (continuity) between cavity 17 of the IP Cluster connector and ground

Is continuity present?

Go to Step 5

Locate and repair the short to ground in CKT 33 (TAN/WHT) between the IP Cluster, ABS Control Module and the Park Brake Switch. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the Instrument Cluster. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
