Verify that the heated seat is inoperative.

Does the heated seat operate normally?

Test the Seat Heater Module battery feed circuit for voltage. Refer to Circuit Testing in wiring systems.

Is the specified voltage present?

B+

Test between the Seat Heater Module battery feed circuit and ground circuit for voltage. Refer to Circuit Testing in wiring systems.

Is the specified voltage present?

B+

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
  2. Place the Lumbar (heat) Switch in the HIGH position.
  3. Test the Seat Heater Module control circuit for voltage. Refer to Circuit Testing in wiring systems.

Is voltage present?

Locate and repair an open or short to ground in the Seat Heater Module control circuit or the Lumbar Switch ignition feed circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in wiring systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Locate and repair an open or short to ground in the Seat Heater Module battery feed circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in wiring systems.

Is the repair complete?

Locate and repair an open in the Seat Heater Module ground circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in wiring systems.

Replace the seat heater module. Refer to Seat Cushion Trim Cover and Pad Replacement and Seat Back Cover and Pad Replacement .

Replace the lumbar switch. Refer to Lumbar Switch Replacement .

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
