Removal Procedure
- Remove the seat from the vehicle. Refer to
Seat Replacement
.
- Remove the trim plate.
- Separate the J-strips
from the seat bottom frame.
Important: Do not damage the seat fabric when removing the velcro retaining cover.
- Separate the velcro strips (1) that retain the seat pad (3) to the seat
cover (2).
- Disconnect the electrical connections, as needed.
- Remove the seat back release lever, if equipped. Refer to
Seat Back Recliner Handle Replacement

- Remove the manual recliner (manual lumbar knob) lever, if equipped.

- Remove the power lumbar control switch, if equipped. Refer to
Lumbar Switch Replacement
.
- Remove the power seat control switch, if equipped. Refer to
Power Seat Switch Replacement

- Remove the seat back from the seat bottom bolts.
- Remove the seat belt buckle
bolt.
- Remove the seat belt buckle from the seat.
- Remove the seat bottom cover.
- Remove the seat bottom pad.
Installation Procedure
- Install the seat bottom pad to the seat bottom.
- Install the seat bottom cover to the seat bottom pad.
- Engage the velcro strips
(1) that retain the seat pad (3) to the seat cover (2).
- Install the seat belt buckle through the slot in the seat.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the seat
belt holder bolt.
Tighten
Tighten the seat belt buckle bolt to 70 N·m(52 lb ft).
- Install the seat back to seat bottom bolts.
- Install the power seat control switch, if equipped. Refer to
Power Seat Switch Replacement
.
- Install the seat back release lever, if equipped. Refer to
Seat Back Recliner Handle Replacement
.
- Install the power lumbar switch, if equipped. Refer to
Lumbar Switch Replacement
.
- Connect the electrical connections, as needed.
- Engage the velcro strips that retain the seat pad to the cover.
- Engage the J-strips to
the seat bottom frame.
- Install the trim plate.
- Install the seat to the vehicle. Refer to
Seat Replacement
.
