Removal Procedure
- Release the park brake.
- Remove the floor console. Refer to
Front Floor Console Replacement
in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
- Remove nut retaining the park brake cable to the lever assembly.
- Disconnect the park brake cable from the park brake lever.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the park brake lever.
- Remove the nuts retaining the park brake lever to the floor console
bracket.
- Remove the park brake lever from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Install the park brake
lever to the vehicle.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the nuts
retaining the park brake lever to the floor console bracket.
Tighten
Tighten the park brake lever mounting nuts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
- Connect the electrical connector to the park brake lever.
- Connect the park brake cable to the park brake lever.
- Tighten the nut retaining the park brake cable to the park brake
lever until there is no free movement between the cable and the lever.
- Install the floor console. Refer to
Front Floor Console Replacement
in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
- Adjust the park brake cable. Refer to
Park Brake Cable Service/Adjustment
