Schematic Reference: Navigation System Schematics

DEFINITION: The navigation display head (NDH) screen is blank, distorted or the colors are not correct.

Did you perform Diagnostic System Check - Navigation System ?

  1. Turn ON the ignition. The Cadillac emblem screen appears on the navigation display head (NDH).
  2. Press the NAV MENU button on the NDH.
  3. When the navigation disclaimer screen appears, press the I AGREE button on the display.
  4. Press the MAP/REPEAT button on the NDH. The display should show the current position of the vehicle. The navigation map should be clear and have clear color.

Does the system operate normally?

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Disconnect the navigation display head (NDH) connector C1.
  3. Measure the resistance between each video color signal circuit and ground at the NDH connector.

Is the resistance within the specified range for each circuit?

70-80ohms

Test each video color signal circuit for an open, a short to ground or a short to voltage. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the video reference circuit for a short to voltage. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the navigation display head (NDH). Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the navigation display head (NDH). Refer to Navigation Display Module Replacement .

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the navigation module (NAV). Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?
