Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 291654 Size: SH
  1. Apply the parking brake.
  2. Remove the right IP endcap. Refer to Instrument Panel Outer Trim Cover Replacement .
  3. Remove the steering column. Refer to Steering Column Replacement in Steering Wheel and Column - Tilt.
  4. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the ignition switch.
  5. Disconnect the park lock cable from the ignition switch. Refer to Park Lock Cable Replacement in Automatic Transaxle.
  6. Remove the ignition switch cylinder (1). Refer to Ignition Switch Lock Cylinder Replacement .

    7. Object Number: 291655 Size: SH
  7. Remove one fastener from the access hole in the IP at the steering column opening.

    8. Object Number: 291654 Size: SH
  8. Remove one fastener (2) from the endcap opening hole.

    9. The fastener at the top of the opening faces forward.

  9. Rotate the switch in the IP and remove the switch through the endcap opening.
  10. Remove the fasteners (1-3) securing the ignition switch bracket to the retainer.
  11. Remove the ignition switch bracket from the ignition switch.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 291676 Size: SH
  1. Install the ignition switch housing bracket to the switch.
  2. Install the fasteners (1-3).

    3. Object Number: 291654 Size: SH
  3. Install the ignition switch to the IP retainer.
  4. Install fasteners (2).
  5. Install the electrical connectors.
  6. Install the park lock cable. Refer to Park Lock Cable Replacement in Automatic Transaxle.

    7. Object Number: 291658 Size: SH
  7. Install the ignition switch cylinder to the ignition switch housing. Refer to Ignition Switch Lock Cylinder Replacement .
  8. Install the IP endcap. Refer to Instrument Panel Outer Trim Cover Replacement .

    9. Install the steering column. Refer to Steering Column Replacement in Steering Wheel and Column - Tilt.

  9. Release the parking brake.
