Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the door trim panel. Refer to Door Trim Panel Replacement .
  2. Remove the door control module. Refer to Door Control Module Replacement .
  3. Remove the water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .
  4. Remove the inner belt molding. Refer to Front Side Door Window Belt Inner Sealing Strip Replacement .
  5. Caution: Disconnect the power window switch when working inside the driver door. When operated, the Express Up/Down Feature allows the door window to move very quickly, without stopping, which could cause personal injury.

    Caution: When working with any type of glass or sheet metal with exposed or rough edges, wear approved safety glasses and gloves in order to reduce the chance of personal injury.

  6. Connect a power source to the window motor.
  7. Raise the window to the full up position.
  8. Tape the window in place.
  9. Locate the window clamps (3) on the regulator (2).
  10. Loosen the window clamp attachment bolts (4) four revolutions.
  11. Lower the regulator clamps (2) to the full down position.

  13. Remove the window from the door in the following order:
  14. 11.1. While supporting the window through the access hole in the inner panel, remove the tape holding the window up.
    11.2. Lower the window slightly.
    11.3. Tilt the window downward at the front.
    11.4. Pull upward on the rear edge of the window.
    11.5. Pull the window up and out of the door from the outer side of the window opening.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the window into the door in the following order:
  2. 1.1. Carefully lower the front edge of the window into the door from the outer side of the door.
    1.2. Position the rear edge of the window downward.
    1.3. Raise the window to the full up position.
    1.4. Tape the window in place.

    Important: Ensure that the rubber insulators are properly attached to the window regulator clamps.

  3. Carefully raise the window regulator clamps (2) to the full up position, engaging the window (1).
  4. Remove the tape from the window.
  5. Complete the following steps to properly position the window:
  6. 4.1. Lower the window approximately two inches.
    4.2. Seat the window fully rearward against the center pillar.
    4.3. Adjust the window forward 2 to 3 mm (5/64 to 1/8 in).
    4.4. Raise the window to the full up position.

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  7. Set the glass with the clamp bolts.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the window clamp bolts to 11 N·m (93 lb in).

  9. Lower the window (1) to the full down position.
  10. Disconnect the power switch.
  11. Install the inner belt molding. Refer to Front Side Door Window Belt Inner Sealing Strip Replacement .
  12. Install the water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .
  13. Install the door control module. Refer to Door Control Module Replacement .
  14. Install the door trim panel. Refer to Door Trim Panel Replacement
