Removal Procedure

  1. Lower the window to the full-down position.
  2. Remove the power mirror. Refer to Power Mirror Replacement .
  3. Remove the inner belt sealing strip. Refer to Front Side Door Window Belt Inner Sealing Strip Replacement .
  4. Remove the window run channel. Refer to Window Channel Replacement .
  5. Remove the door window. Refer to Front Side Door Window Replacement .
  6. Remove the fasteners from the door window reveal molding.
  7. Insert a thin, flat-bladed tool between the molding and the door pillar and cut the foam tape. Work from the top downward until the tape is separated.
  8. Remove the door window reveal molding.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 105394  Size: SH

    Important: If the old molding is to be reused, the foam tape must be replaced as outlined in steps 1 through 5. A new molding from GMSPO will have new tape installed.

  1. Mark the location of the old tape strip on molding applique with a scribe.
  2. Remove all of the tape residue from the door pillar and the molding applique.
  3. Use an isopropyl alcohol dampened cloth in order to remove the old tape residue.

  5. Install new foam tape to the molding applique (1). Align the new tape with the scribe marks made previously.
  6. Wrap the clear plastic release liner tab to the outside of the molding applique. Tape in place with a small piece of masking tape (2).
  7. Install the door window reveal molding into the window frame.
  8. Ensure the close-out lip around the entire outer edge is not rolled under.
  9. Push the molding rearward in order to compress the foam.
  10. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  11. Install the 3 fasteners to the front of the "B" pillar.
  12. 9.1. Install the upper fastener first.
    9.2. Install the lower fastener second.
    9.3. Install the center fastener third.

    Tighten
    Tighten the 3 fasteners as indicated to 1.4 N·m (12.5 lb in).

  13. Install the 6 fasteners into the door frame header starting at the rear and working forward.
  14. Tighten
    Tighten the 6 fasteners to 1.4 N·m (12.5 lb in).

  15. Install the 4 fasteners along the door flange in order to secure the reveal molding to the door. If the molding is a new part, new fasteners are included with the assembly.
  16. Tighten
    Tighten the 4 fasteners to 2.0 N·m (18 lb in).

  17. Pull the release liner at the door pillar and apply pressure to the applique to adhere the tape to the door pillar.
  18. Install the window run channel. Refer to Window Channel Replacement .
  19. Install the door window. Refer to Front Side Door Window Replacement .
  20. Install the inner belt sealing strip. Refer to Front Side Door Window Belt Inner Sealing Strip Replacement .
  21. Install the power mirror. Refer to Power Mirror Replacement .
