  1. Connect a scan tool.
  2. Select the data from the driver door module data list.
  3. Operate the window switches at the malfunctioning door in the up and down directions.

Does the scan tool indicate that the switch operates correctly?

Go to Step 5

  1. Disconnect the power window switch at the malfunctioning door.
  2. Using a digital multimeter (DMM), measure the resistance between window switch terminal 2 and terminal 4 while pressing the switch in the down direction.
  3. Using a DMM, measure the resistance between window switch terminal 1 and terminal 4 while pressing the switch in the up direction.

Is the resistance within the specified range for both measurements?

0-5 ohms

Go to Step 5

Replace the power window switch. Refer to Front Door Switch Replacement or Rear Side Door Window Switch Replacement .

  1. Disconnect the door module connector C1 at the malfunctioning door.
  2. Using a DMM, measure the resistance between window switch harness connector terminal 4 and door module harness connector terminal 10.

Is the resistance within the specified range?

0-5 ohms

Go to Step 7

Repair the open in one of the following circuits:

    • CKT 451 in the RH front door
    • CKT 551 in the RH rear door
    • CKT 551 in the LH rear door

Is the repair complete?

Using a DMM, measure the resistance between window switch harness connector terminal 1 and door module harness connector terminal 8.

Is the resistance within the specified range?

0-5 ohms

Go to Step 9

Repair the open in one of the following circuits:

    • CKT 1184 in the RH front door
    • CKT 1186 in the RH rear door
    • CKT 1185 in the LH rear door

Is the repair complete?

Using a DMM, measure the resistance between window switch harness connector terminal 2 and door module harness connector terminal 9.

Is the resistance within the specified range?

0-5 ohms

Go to Step 11

Repair the open in one of the following circuits:

    • CKT 1189 in the RH front door
    • CKT 1188 in the RH rear door
    • CKT 1187 in the LH rear door

Is the repair complete?

  1. Disconnect the power window motor at the malfunctioning door.
  2. Using a DMM, measure the voltage between window motor harness connector terminals while pressing the malfunctioning door window switch in the up and down directions.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

Replace the power window motor

  1. Disconnect the door module connector:
  2. • passenger door module connector C5
    • RH rear door module (RRDM) connector C3
    • LH rear door module (LRDM) connector C3
  3. Using a DMM, measure the resistance in the malfunctioning door:
  4. • Passenger door module connector C5 terminal B, power window motor harness connector terminal A.
    • RRDM connector C3 terminal A, power window motor harness connector terminal B.
    • LRDM connector C3 terminal A, power window motor harness connector terminal B.

Is the resistance within the specified range?

0-5 ohms

Go to Step 15

Repair the open or short to ground in one of the following circuits:

    • CKT  667 in the RH front door.
    • CKT 671 in the RH rear door.
    • CKT  669 in the LH rear door.

Is the repair complete?

Using a DMM, measure the resistance in the malfunctioning door:

    • Passenger door module connector C5 terminal C, power window motor harness connector terminal B.
    • RRDM connector C3 terminal B, power window motor harness connector terminal C.
    • LRDM connector C3 terminal B, power window motor harness connector terminal C.

Is the resistance within the specified range?

0-5 ohms

Go to Step 17

Repair the open or short to ground in:

    • CKT 666 in the RH front door.
    • CKT  670 in the RH rear door.
    • CKT 668 in the LH rear door.

Is the repair complete?

Replace the door module at the malfunctioning door.
