Did the rear cigar lighter operate properly?

  1. Disconnect the cigar lighter connector(console cigar lighter connector).
  2. Connect a DMM from the cigar lighter connector cavity B (BLK) to ground.

Is the resistance less than the specified value?

5 ohms

Connect a DMM from the cigar lighter connector cavity A (ORN) to ground.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

Replace the cigar lighter. Refer to Cigar Lighter Housing Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.

Is the cigar lighter replacement complete?

Did the auxiliary power outlet operate properly?

Check the underhood junction block C/LTR Fuse for an open.

Is the C/LTR Fuse OK?

  1. Check for proper terminal contact at the underhood junction block connector C2 cavity B12 (ORN).
  2. If OK, replace the underhood junction block. Refer to Underhood Fuse Block Replacement in Engine Electrical.

Is the action complete?

Repair the short to ground in CKT 2040 (ORN). Refer to Wiring Repairs .

Is the circuit repair complete?

--

Go to Step 10

Replace the C/LTR Fuse in the underhood junction block. Refer to Wiring Repairs .

Is the C/LTR Fuse replacement complete?

Go to Cigar Lighter/Auxiliary Outlets System Check

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  2. Remove the CIGAR relay from the rear junction block.
  3. Backprobe the rear junction block connector C1 with a test lamp from battery positive voltage (B+) to cavity D10 (DK GRN).

Did the test lamp light?

--

With the rear junction bloack connector C1 connected, backprobe with a test light between cavity D9 (PNK) and a ground.

Did the test lamp light?

--

Go to Step 13

With the rear junction bloack connector C2 connected, backprobe with a test light between cavity D12 (PNK) and a ground.

Did the test lamp light?

--

Go to Step 14

Replace the underhood junction block. Refer to Underhood Fuse Block Replacement in Engine Electrical.

Is the underhood junction block replacement complete?

  1. Disconnect the rear integration module (RIM) connector C1.
  2. Backprobe the rear junction block connector C1 with a DMM from cavity D10 (DK GRN) to the RIM connector C1 cavity A2 (DK GRN).

Is the resistance less than the specified value?

5 ohms

Replace the rear integration module (RIM). Refer to Body Control Module Replacement in Body Control System.

Is the RIM replacement complete?

Check the CIGAR Fuse in the rear junction block for an open.

Is the CIGAR Fuse OK?

Replace the CIGAR relay in the rear junction block.

Do the cigar lighters and auxiliary power outlet now operate properly?

  1. Remove the CIGAR relay from the rear jucnction block.
  2. Remove the C/LTR Fuse from the underhood junction block.
  3. Remove the AUX PWR Fuse from the underhood junction block.
  4. Backprobe the rear junction block connector C1 with a DMM from cavity D9 (PNK) to ground.

Is the resistance less than the specified value?

OL

Go to Step 21

Replace the rear junction block. Refer to Rear Junction Block Replacement.

Is the rear junction block replacement complete?

Repair the short to ground in CKT 70 (PNK). Refer to Wiring Repairs .

Is the circuit repair complete?

Replace the CIGAR Fuse in the rear junction block. Refer to Wiring Repairs .

Is the fuse replacement complete?

Repair the open in CKT 350 (BLK) between the cigar lighter and G200. Refer to Wiring Repairs .

Is the circuit repair complete?

Repair the open in CKT 2040 (ORN) between the underhood junction block and the cigar lighter. Refer to Wiring Repairs .

Is the circuit repair complete?

Repair the open in CKT 70 (PNK) between the rear junction block and the underhood junction block. Refer to Wiring Repairs .
