Did you perform the Audible Warnings Diagnostic System Check?

  1. Connect a scan tool to the data link connector (DLC).
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
  3. Ensure that the headlamp switch is OFF.
  4. Select the instrument panel cluster (IPC) data list inputs.
  5. View the IPC headlamp switch input.
  6. Turn the headlamp switch to the ON position.

Is the scan tool input ON?

Perform the Radio/Audio System Diagnostic System Check. Refer to Intermittents and Poor Connections .

Did you complete the inspection?

  1. Connect a fused jumper wire from headlamp switch connector C1 terminal A to ground.
  2. Turn headlamp switch ON.

Is the warning chime on?

Was a fault found in the Radio/Audion System?

Go to applicable diagnostic table

Go to Step 8

  1. Repair the open in CKT 151 (BLK/WHT). Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
  2. Inspect for a short in the battery. Refer to Battery Failure Diagnosis in Engine Electrical.

Did you complete the repair?

Inspect CKT 10 (YEL) for an open.

Was a fault found?

--

Go to Step 9

Replace the instrument cluster.

Is the replacement complete?

Repair the open in CKT 10 (YEL).

Is the repair complete?
