Did you perform the Audible Warnings Diagnostic System Check?

  1. Connect a scan tool to the data link connector (DLC).
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
  3. Ensure that the headlamp switch is OFF.
  4. Select the instrument panel cluster (IPC) data list inputs.
  5. View the IPC headlamp switch input.
  6. Turn the headlamp switch to the ON position.

Is the scan tool input ON?

Perform the IPC Diagnostic System Check. Refer to Diagnostic System Check - Instrument Cluster .

Did you complete the inspection?

  1. Verify that the ignition switch is in the OFF position.
  2. Remove the key from the ignition switch.
  3. Disconnect the headlamp switch connector C1 terminal A.

Is the warning chime on?

Go to Step 8

Connect the fused jumper from the headlamp switch connector C1 terminal A to ground.

Is the warning chime on?

  1. Repair the open in CKT 74 (LT BLU). Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
  2. Inspect for a short in the battery. Refer to Battery Failure Diagnosis in Engine Electrical.

Repair the CKT 151 (BLK/WHT). Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect the headlamp switch connector C1 for the proper terminal contact. Refer to Repairing Connector Terminals in Wiring Systems.
