1. Observe the SERVICE ENGINE SOON indicator.
2. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
3. Wait 1 minute.

Is the SERVICE ENGINE SOON indicator illuminated?

Go to Step 2

1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
2. Connect a scan tool to the Data Link Connector (DLC).
3. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
4. Request the IPC DTC display.

Does the scan tool indicate NO DATA RECEIVED?

Go to Body Control Module System Check

Go to Step 3

If only history DTC(s) exist, refer to the Diagnostic Aids for the appropriate DTC. A history DTC indicates that one of the two following conditions exist:

Are any current DTCs set?

Go to the appropriate DTC table

Go to Step 4

1. Clear all of the history DTCs.
2. Test drive the vehicle.
3. Perform the IPC Diagnostic System Check.

Was the IPC Diagnostic System Check performed?
