Seat Belt Replacement - Driver or Passenger Eldorado

1. Remove the carpet retainer. Refer to Carpet Retainer Replacement in Interior Trim.
2. Remove the bolt securing the lap retractor to the inner rocker.



3. Remove the fastener from the headrest guide loop on the set back and slip the belt out of the guide.
4. Remove the quarter trim panel. Refer to Rear Quarter Upper Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
5. Remove the shoulder belt to the headlining escutcheon.
6. Remove the courtesy/reading lamps. Refer to Roof Rail Rear Courtesy Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.



7. Lower the rear corner of the headlining as required to gain access to roof retractor bolts. Refer to Headlining Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
8. Remove the bolts and the shoulder retractor.

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

1. Install the roof retractor and bolts.

Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 24 N·m (18 lb ft).

2. Install the headliner. Refer to Headlining Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
3. Install the courtesy/reading lamps. Refer to Roof Rail Rear Courtesy Lamp Replacement .
4. Install the shoulder belt to the headlining escutcheon.
5. Install the quarter trim panel. Refer to Rear Quarter Upper Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.



6. Install the belt into the seat back guide loop and the fastener securing the guide loop.



7. Install the floor retractor and the bolt.

Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 41 N·m (30 lb ft).

8. Install the carpet retainer. Refer to Carpet Retainer Replacement in Interior Trim.

Seat Belt Replacement - Driver or Passenger DeVille

1. Remove the carpet retainers. Refer to Carpet Retainer Replacement
2. Remove the body lock pillar trim. Refer to Body Lock Pillar Trim Replacement in Interior Trim.



3. Remove the intermediate guide bracket by removing the 3 bolts.



4. Remove the bolt securing the floor retractor to the rocker inner panel.



5. Remove the height adjuster trim cover by removing the two bolts under the headliner.
6. Remove the bolts and the height adjuster guide loop.

1. Install the floor retractor to the inner rocker panel with a bolt.

Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 41 N·m (30 lb ft).

2. Install the height adjuster guide loop and bolts.

Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 41 N·m (30 lb ft).

3. Install the height adjuster trim cover and bolts.

Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 2 N·m (18 lb in).




4. Install the intermediate guide bracket with the 3 bolts.

Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 6 N·m (53 lb in)

5. Install the body lock pillar trim. Refer to Body Lock Pillar Trim Replacement in Interior Trim.
6. Install the carpet retainers. Refer to Carpet Retainer Replacement in Interior Trim.
