1. Turn the ignition on.
2. Turn both of the rear seat heater switches on.

Do the rear heated seats operate normally?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Does the heated seat switch indicator operate normally?

Go to Step 11

1. Disconnect the rear heated seat relay.
2. Connect a test lamp from the heated seat relay battery voltage supply circuit terminal to ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 13

1. Connect a test lamp from the heated seat relay ignition voltage supply circuit terminal to ground.
2. Turn the ignition on.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 14

1. Connect a test lamp from the heated seat switch signal circuit terminal to ground.
2. Turn the ignition on.
3. Turn the heated seat switch on.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 9

Connect a test lamp from battery positive voltage to the heated seat relay ground circuit terminal.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Test and repair the heated seat element supply circuit for an open or high resistance. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs or Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 19

1. Disconnect the heated seat switch.
2. Connect a test lamp from the heated seat switch ignition voltage supply circuit terminal to ground.
3. Turn the ignition on.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 10

Test and repair the heated seat switch signal circuit for an open or high resistance. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs or Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 19

1. Disconnect the inoperative heated seat element connector.
2. Connect a test lamp across the harness connector terminals.
3. Turn the ignition on.
4. Turn the heated seat switch on.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 18

Test and repair the heated seat element supply circuit for an open or high resistance. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs or Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Repair the open or high resistance in the battery positive voltage supply circuit. Refer to Wiring Repairs and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the rear seat cushion heater relay. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Heater Relay Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

Replace the rear seat heater switch. Refer to Rear Seat Heater Switch Replacement .

Replace the inoperative rear seat heater element. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Heater Replacement or Rear Seat Back Cushion Heater Replacement .
