  1. Turn the ignition on.
  2. Turn both of the rear seat heater switches on.

Do the rear heated seats operate normally?

Does the heated seat switch indicator operate normally?

Go to Step 11

  1. Disconnect the rear heated seat relay.
  2. Connect a test lamp from the heated seat relay battery voltage supply circuit terminal to ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 5

  1. Connect a test lamp from the heated seat relay ignition voltage supply circuit terminal to ground.
  2. Turn the ignition on.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

  1. Connect a test lamp from the heated seat switch signal circuit terminal to ground.
  2. Turn the ignition on.
  3. Turn the heated seat switch on.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Connect a test lamp from battery positive voltage to the heated seat relay ground circuit terminal.

  1. Disconnect the heated seat switch.
  2. Connect a test lamp from the heated seat switch ignition voltage supply circuit terminal to ground.
  3. Turn the ignition on.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Test and repair the heated seat switch signal circuit for an open or high resistance. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs or Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

  1. Disconnect the inoperative heated seat element connector.
  2. Connect a test lamp across the harness connector terminals.
  3. Turn the ignition on.
  4. Turn the heated seat switch on.

Does the test lamp illuminate?
