Verify that the inoperative driver door power window fault is present.

Does the driver door power window operate normally?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

  1. Turn the ignition off.
  2. Disconnect the LF window regulator motor.
  3. Turn on the ignition, with the engine off.
  4. Probe the battery positive voltage circuit of the LF window regulator motor with a test lamp that is connected to good ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 4

Connect a test lamp between the battery positive voltage circuit of the LF window regulator motor and the ground circuit of the LF window regulator motor.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 5

Probe the power window switch express signal circuit of the LF window regulator motor with a test lamp that is connected to good ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

  1. Probe the power window motor left front up control circuit of the LF window regulator motor with a test lamp that is connected to good ground.
  2. Activate the LF window switch to the UP position.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

  1. Probe the power window motor left front down control circuit of the LF window regulator motor with a test lamp that is connected to good ground.
  2. Activate the LF window switch to the DOWN position.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Test the power window switch express signal circuit of the LF door switch for a short to voltage, a short to ground or an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the power window motor left front up control circuit for a short to ground or an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the LF power window regulator motor. Refer to Front Side Door Window Regulator Replacement .

  1. Reprogram the LF window regulator motor. Refer to Window Motor Programming - Express Function .
  2. Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
