Removal Procedure

    Caution: Disconnect the power window switch when working inside the driver door. When operated, the Express Up/Down Feature allows the door window to move very quickly, without stopping, which could cause personal injury.

    Caution: This vehicle is equipped with a Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) System. Failure to follow the correct procedure could cause the following conditions:

       • Air bag deployment
       • Personal injury
       • Unnecessary SIR system repairs
    In order to avoid the above conditions, observe the following guidelines:
       • Refer to SIR Component Views in order to determine if you are performing service on or near the SIR components or the SIR wiring.
       • If you are performing service on or near the SIR components or the SIR wiring, disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System.

  1. Disable the SIR system, if equipped with the SIR side impact system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in SIR.
  2. Roll the window half way down.
  3. Tape the window into place.
  4. Remove the front door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
  5. Remove the front door water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .
  6. Remove the Inflatable restraint side impact sensor mounting plate if equipped. Refer to SIR Sensor Mounting Plate Replacement - Front Door .
  7. Remove the power window regulator motor electrical connector.
  8. Remove the guide rail adjuster. Refer to Window Guide Rail Replacement - Front Door .

  10. Remove the rivets by drilling out.
  11. Remove the front door window regulator and motor from the door.

  12. Object Number: 243545  Size: SH
  13. Remove the front door window regulator motor screws.
  14. Remove the window regulator from the motor.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the window regulator to the motor.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the front door window regulator motor screws.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the front door window regulator motor screws to 5 N·m (45 lb in).

  5. Install the front door window regulator and motor from the door.

  7. Install new rivets to regulator.
  8. Install the guide rail adjuster. Refer to Window Guide Rail Replacement - Front Door .
  9. Install the power window regulator motor electrical connector.
  10. Install the Inflatable restraint side impact sensor mounting plate if equipped. Refer to SIR Sensor Mounting Plate Replacement - Front Door .
  11. Install the front door water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .
  12. Install front door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
  13. Remove tape from the window.
  14. Enable SIR system, if equipped with SIR side impact system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in SIR.
