Removal Procedure

    Caution: This vehicle is equipped with a Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) System. Failure to follow the correct procedure could cause the following conditions:

       • Air bag deployment
       • Personal injury
       • Unnecessary SIR system repairs
    In order to avoid the above conditions, observe the following guidelines:
       • Refer to SIR Component Views in order to determine if you are performing service on or near the SIR components or the SIR wiring.
       • If you are performing service on or near the SIR components or the SIR wiring, disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System.

  1. Disable the SIR system, if equipped with the SIR side impact system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in SIR.
  2. Roll the window all the way up.
  3. Remove the front door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
  4. Remove the water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .
  5. Remove the inflatable restraint side impact sensor mounting plate, if equipped. Refer to SIR Sensor Mounting Plate Replacement - Front Door .

  6. Object Number: 243113  Size: SH
  7. Remove the guide rail bolts.
  8. Remove the guide rail.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 243113  Size: SH
  1. Install the guide rail.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the guide rail bolts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the guide rail bolts to 7 N·m (62 lb in).

  5. Adjust the guide rail:
  6. 3.1. Roll the window part way down.
    3.2. Loosen both the bolts on the guide rail adjuster.
    3.3. Roll the window back up and tighten both the guide rail adjuster bolts.

    Tighten
    Tighten the guide rail adjuster bolts to 7 N·m (62 lb in).

  7. Check the to ensure that the window seats into the door frame.
  8. Install the inflatable restraint side impact sensor mounting plate, if equipped. Refer to SIR Sensor Mounting Plate Replacement - Front Door .
  9. Install the water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .
  10. Install the front door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
  11. Enable the SIR system, if equipped with the SIR side impact system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in SIR.
