Removal Procedure

    Caution: Disconnect the power window switch when working inside the driver door. When operated, the Express Up/Down Feature allows the door window to move very quickly, without stopping, which could cause personal injury.

    Caution: This vehicle is equipped with a Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) System. Failure to follow the correct procedure could cause the following conditions:

       • Air bag deployment
       • Personal injury
       • Unnecessary SIR system repairs
    In order to avoid the above conditions, observe the following guidelines:
       • Refer to SIR Component Views in order to determine if you are performing service on or near the SIR components or the SIR wiring.
       • If you are performing service on or near the SIR components or the SIR wiring, disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System.

  1. Disable the SIR system, if equipped with the SIR side impact system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in SIR.
  2. Remove the front door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
  3. Remove the front door water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .
  4. Remove the inside handle. Refer to Front Side Door Inside Handle Replacement .

    5. Object Number: 243203 Size: SH
  5. Unclip the rod from the guide.
  6. Unclip the rod from the lock.
  7. Remove the remote control lock rod (1).

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 243203 Size: SH
  1. Install the remote control lock rod (1).
  2. Clip the rod on the lock.
  3. Clip the rod on the guide.
  4. Install the inside handle. Refer to Front Side Door Inside Handle Replacement .
  5. Install the front door water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .
  6. Install the front door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
  7. Enable the SIR system, if equipped with SIR side impact system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in SIR.
