Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the door trim panel. Refer to Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
  2. Remove the door water deflector. Refer to Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .
  3. Remove the inside door handle. Refer to Rear Side Door Inside Handle Replacement .

  4. Object Number: 243430  Size: SH
  5. Remove all the outside door handle rods.

  6. Object Number: 243428  Size: SH
  7. Remove the rear door outside handle nuts.
  8. Remove the rear door outside handle and gasket.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 243428  Size: SH
  1. Install the rear door outside handle and gasket.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the rear door outside handle nuts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the rear door outside handle nuts to 7 N·m (62 lb in).

  5. Install the rear door outside handle rods.
  6. Important: Check to ensure rear door outside handle has no play. If adjustment is needed, use the adjuster located at the base of release rod.

  7. Install the inside door handle. Refer to Rear Side Door Inside Handle Replacement .
  8. Install the door water deflector. Refer to Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .
  9. Install the door trim panel. Refer to Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
