Removal Procedure

    Caution: This vehicle is equipped with a Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) System. Failure to follow the correct procedure could cause the following conditions:

       • Air bag deployment
       • Personal injury
       • Unnecessary SIR system repairs
    In order to avoid the above conditions, observe the following guidelines:
       • Refer to SIR Component Views in order to determine if you are performing service on or near the SIR components or the SIR wiring.
       • If you are performing service on or near the SIR components or the SIR wiring, disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System.

  1. Disable the SIR system, if equipped with the inflatable restraint side impact system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in SIR.
  2. Remove the trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
  3. Remove the trim panel retaining block. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Bracket Replacement .

  4. Remove the front door speaker screws (1).
  5. Remove the front door speaker (2).
  6. Disconnect the front door speaker connector.

  7. Starting at the top, pull downward on the water deflector in order to remove from the door edges.
  8. Unroute the electrical connectors from the water deflector.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 159631 Size: SH
  1. Position the front door speaker (2) to the front door.
  2. Connect the front door speaker connector.

    3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the speaker screws (1).

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the speaker screws (1) to 6 N·m (53 lb in).

  4. Route the electrical connectors through the water deflector.
  5. Install the water deflector to the door.
  6. Install the trim retaining block. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Bracket Replacement .
  7. Install the trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
  8. Enable the SIR system, if equipped with the inflatable restraint side impact system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in SIR.
