Removal Procedure

    Caution: This vehicle is equipped with a Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) System. Failure to follow the correct procedure could cause the following conditions:

       • Air bag deployment
       • Personal injury
       • Unnecessary SIR system repairs
    In order to avoid the above conditions, observe the following guidelines:
       • Refer to SIR Component Views in order to determine if you are performing service on or near the SIR components or the SIR wiring.
       • If you are performing service on or near the SIR components or the SIR wiring, disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System.

  1. Disable SIR system, if equipped with inflatable restraint side impact system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in SIR.
  2. Front door window in the up position.
  3. Remove front door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
  4. Remove front door water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .
  5. Remove inflatable restraint side impact sensor mounting plate, if equipped. Refer to SIR Sensor Mounting Plate Replacement - Front Door .

  6. Remove front door window guide screws.
  7. Remove front door window guide.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 243117 Size: SH
  1. Install front door window guide.

    2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  2. Install front door window guide screws.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the window guide screws to 7 N·m (62 lb in).

  3. Install inflatable restraint side impact sensor mounting plate, if equipped. Refer to SIR Sensor Mounting Plate Replacement - Front Door .
  4. Install front door water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .
  5. Install front door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
  6. Enable SIR system, if equipped with inflatable restraint side impact system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in SIR.
