Did you review the operation and perform the necessary inspections?

  1. Turn the ignition ON, with the engine OFF.
  2. Observe the fasten seat belt indicator during bulb check.

Is the fasten seat belt indicator inoperative?

Go to Fasten Safety Belt Indicator/Chime Inoperative in Seat Belts

Check the engine oil pressure gage for proper operation.

Is the engine oil pressure gage functioning properly?

Go to Step 4

Is the lights on chime inoperative?

  1. Open the LF door.
  2. Test the side door jamb switch control circuit at the headlamp switch for an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 14

  1. The key in ignition warning chime is inoperative.
  2. Put the key in the ignition switch.
  3. Open the LF door.
  4. Test the side door jamb switch control circuit of the IPC for an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the battery voltage circuit at the headlamp switch for an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the battery switch voltage circuit at the headlamp switch for an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect the headlamp switch for poor connections. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.
