Removal Procedure
- Open the rear compartment lid.
- Loosen the amplifier bolts from the amplifier bracket.
- Remove the rear window trim panel. Refer to Rear Window Trim Panel Replacement in Body Rear End.
- Remove the amplifier bracket screws from the rear parcel shelf.
- Disengage the locator tabs (1, 2) on the amplifier bracket from the rear parcel.
- Lower the amplifier bracket from the rear parcel shelf.
- Finish removing the amplifier bolts (2) from the amplifier bracket (7).
- Remove the amplifier (6) from the amplifier bracket (7).
- Disconnect the electrical connector (1) from the amplifier (6).
Installation Procedure
- Connect the electrical connector (1) to the amplifier (6).
- Install the amplifier (6) to the amplifier bracket (7).
- Install the bolts (2) to the amplifier (6) and hand start the bolt threads.
- Install the amplifier bracket to the rear parcel shelf and engage the locating tabs (1, 2).
- Install the amplifier bracket screws to the rear parcel shelf.
- Install the trim panel which covers the rear seat to the rear window. Refer to Rear Window Trim Panel Replacement in Body Rear End.
- Finish tighting the amplifier bolts.
- Close the rear compartment lid.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 4 N·m (35 lb in).
