Removal Procedure

  1. Open the hood.

  2. Object Number: 159509  Size: SH
  3. Remove the windshield wiper transmission. Refer to Windshield Wiper Transmission Replacement
  4. Remove the upper link (1) of the transmission from the motor crank arm (6).
  5. Unclip the harness connector from the wiper transmission assembly.
  6. Remove the crank arm nut (7) from the wiper motor (4).
  7. Remove the crank arm from the wiper motor.
  8. Remove the wiper motor bracket bolts (5) from the wiper motor.
  9. Remove the wiper motor from the wiper transmission assembly (2).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the wiper motor (4) to the wiper transmission assembly (2).
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the wiper motor bracket bolts (5) to the wiper motor.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the wiper motor bracket bolts to 4 N·m (35 lb in).

  5. Install the crank arm (6) to the wiper motor.
  6. Install the crank arm nut (7) to the wiper motor.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the crank arm nut to 4 N·m (35 lb in).

  8. Attach the harness connector to the wiper transmission assembly.
  9. Install the upper link (1) to the crank arm (6).
  10. Install the windshield wiper transmission. Refer to Windshield Wiper Transmission Replacement
  11. Close the hood.
