DEFINITION: LH, RH, or both cornering lamps are inoperative.

Did you perform the Lighting System Diagnostic System Check?

Go to Step 2

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  2. Turn the headlamp switch to the HEAD position.
  3. Place the turn signal switch in the LH and RH ON position.

Are the cornering lamps operating properly?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

Determine if one or both of the cornering lamps are inoperative.

Are the both cornering lamps inoperative?

Go to Step 4

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  2. Turn the headlamp switch to the HEAD position.
  3. Place the turn signal switch in the LH ON position.
  4. Probe the supply voltage circuit of the LH cornering lamp with a test lamp that is connected to a good ground

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 10

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  2. Turn the headlamp switch to the HEAD position.
  3. Place the turn signal switch in the appropriate position to select the inoperative cornering lamp.
  4. Probe the supply voltage circuit of the inoperative cornering lamp with a test lamp that is connected to a good ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 7

Test for an open or a high resistance in the supply voltage circuit of the inoperative cornering lamp. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 14

Connect a test lamp between the supply voltage circuit and the ground circuit of the inoperative cornering lamp.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 12

Probe the low beam supply voltage circuit of the turn signal switch with a test lamp that is connected to a good ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 13

Repair an open or a high resistance in the ground circuit of the inoperative cornering lamp. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Go to Step 14

Repair an open or a high resistance in the ground circuit of the cornering lamps. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you complete the repair?

Repair an open or a high resistance in the low beam supply voltage circuit of the turn signal switch. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 14

Replace the inoperative cornering lamp. Refer to Fog and Cornering Lamp Replacement .

Replace the turn signal switch. Refer to Turn Signal Switch Replacement - On Vehicle in Steering Wheel and Column-Tilt.

  1. Connect all connectors and components that were previously disconnected.
  2. Verify that the LH and RH cornering lamps operate properly.

Do the LH and RH cornering lamps operate properly?

System OK
