Did you perform the Lighting System Diagnostic System Check?

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  2. Place the headlamp position switch to the HEAD position.
  3. Push the turn signal switch forward in order to turn on the high beam headlamps.

Are the high beam headlamps operating properly?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

Determine if both high beam headlamps are inoperative.

Are both high beam headlamps inoperative?

Go to Step 5

Is the LH high beam headlamp inoperative?

Go to Step 12

  1. With the ignition switch in the ON position.
  2. With the headlamp position switch to the HEAD position.
  3. Push the turn signal switch forward in order to turn on the high beam headlamps.
  4. Backprobe the high beam On/Off circuit (M50) of the BCM connector C1 with a test lamp that is connected to a good ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 34

  1. Disconnect the turn signal switch connector.
  2. Probe the high beam switch supply voltage circuit (B905) of the turn signal switch connector with a test lamp that is connected to a good ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 20

Check the HI BEAM RH fuse for an open.

Is the HI BEAM RH fuse open?

Go to Step 28

  1. With the ignition switch in the ON position.
  2. With the headlamp position switch to the HEAD position.
  3. Push the turn signal switch forward in order to turn on the high beam headlamps.
  4. Disconnect the RH high beam headlamp
  5. Probe the RH high beam supply voltage circuit (M1) of the RH headlamp connector with a test lamp that is connected to a good ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Probe the RH high beam ground circuit (F11) of the RH headlamp connector with a test lamp that is connected to a good ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 35

  1. Disconnect the RH high beam headlamp relay  K132 connector.
  2. Probe the coil side feed circuit (A827) of the RH headlamp relay K132 connector with a test lamp that is connected to a good ground.
  3. Probe the switch side feed circuit (A850) of the RH headlamp relay connector with a test lamp that is connected to a good ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate for both tests?

Go to Step 11

Connect a fused jumper between the switch side feed circuit (A850) and the RH headlamp supply voltage circuit (M64) of the RH headlamp relay K132 connector.

Does the RH high beam headlamp illuminate?

Go to Step 21

  1. With the ignition switch to the ON position.
  2. Place the headlamp position switch to the HEAD position.
  3. Push the turn signal switch forward in order to turn on the high beam headlamps.
  4. Disconnect the LH high beam headlamp.
  5. Probe the LH high beam supply voltage circuit (M2) of the LH headlamp connector with a test lamp that is connected to a good ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Probe the LH high beam ground circuit (FM13) of the LH headlamp connector with a test lamp that is connected to B+.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

  1. Disconnect the daytime running lamp relay K131.
  2. Probe the switch side feed circuit (A10) of the DRL relay connector with a test lamp that is connected to a good ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

  1. Disconnect the LH headlamp relay K73.
  2. Probe the coil side feed circuit (A832) of the LH headlamp relay K73 connector with a test lamp that is connected to a good ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Test the LH headlamp supply voltage circuit (M8, M2) for an open or a high resistance. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Probe the switch side ground feed circuit (F803) of the LH headlamp relay K73 connector with a test lamp that is connected to B+.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

  1. Connect the LH headlamp connector.
  2. Turn the headlamp switch to the HEAD position.
  3. Push the turn signal lever away from you in order to turn on the high beam headlamps.
  4. Connect a fused jumper between the switch side ground feed circuit (F803) and the LH high beam ground circuit (FM19) of the LH headlamp relay K73 connector.

Does the LH high beam headlamp illuminate?

Test for an open or a high resistance in the control circuit (M70) of the LH high beam relay. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the high beam On/Off circuit (M50, M3) for an open or a high resistance. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

    • The RH headlamp relay switch side feed circuit (A850)
    • The RH headlamp relay coil side feed circuit (A827)
    • The RH high beam supply voltage circuit (M64, M1)
    • DRL series circuit (M65)
    • LH high beam ground circuit (FM13, FM19)

Locate and repair an open or high resistance in one of the following circuits. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems:

    • The RH headlamp relay switch side feed circuit (A850)
    • The RH headlamp relay coil side feed circuit (A827)

Repair the open or a high resistance in the high beam switch supply circuit (B905, B800) . Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
