Removal Procedure
Caution: This vehicle is equipped with a Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) System. Failure to follow the correct procedure could cause the following conditions:
• | Unnecessary SIR system repairs |
In order to avoid the above conditions, observe the following guidelines:
• | Refer to SIR Component Views in order to determine if you are performing service on or near the SIR components or the SIR wiring. |
• | If you are performing service on or near the SIR components or the SIR wiring, disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System. |
- Disable the SIR system,
if equipped with the SIR side impact system. Refer to
Disabling the SIR System
in SIR.
- Disconnect the rubber
conduit from door and pillar.
- Loosen the plastic-type nut located on conduit closest to the
door.
- Grasp the conduit close to the end being removed.
- Using a turning/pulling motion, remove the conduit.
- Disconnect the wiring harness connectors.
Installation Procedure
- Connect the wiring harness
connectors.
- Install the conduit using a turning-pushing motion into the door
and the pillar.
- Using a turning/push motion, install the conduit to the door and
pillar.
- Tighten the plastic-type nut located on conduit closest to the
door.
- Enable the SIR system, if equipped with the SIR side impact system.
