Schematic Reference: HVAC Schematics

DEFINITION: The blower motor is ON while the blower motor switch is in the OFF position.

Did you perform the HVAC Diagnostic System Check?

  1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  2. Turn OFF the heater and A/C control.

Does the blower motor operate?

--

Go to Step 3

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Remove the heater and A/C control.
  3. Disconnect connector C1 from the heater and A/C control.
  4. Remove the connector from the blower control module.
  5. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  6. Test CKT FP812 (BLK/BLU) for a short to voltage. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 12

Measure the voltage on terminal 11 of the heater and A/C control.

Does the voltage measure near the specified value?

0 V

Go to Step 5

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Connect connector C1 of the heater and A/C control.
  3. Connect the blower control module.
  4. Disconnect the blower motor ground (BRN wire) from the blower control module.
  5. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.

Did the blower motor stop operating?

Inspect the blower motor housing for a short to ground. Refer to Testing for Short to Ground in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the blower control module. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the heater and A/C control. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.
