Engine Mount Replacement Right

Tools Required

    • J 28467-360 Engine Support Fixture
    • J 28467-450 Engine Support Fixture Adapter
    • J 36857 Lift Brackets

 

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 159487  Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.
  2. Install the J 28467-A to support the engine.
  3. Slightly raise the engine to release tension on the mount.
  4. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  5. Remove the engine mount lower nut.
  6. Remove the engine mount upper nut.
  7. Loosen the top right engine mount bracket bolt. DO NOT remove.
  8. Remove the 3 engine mount bracket bolts.
  9. Lower the vehicle.
  10. Use the J 28467-A to raise the engine for engine mount removal.
  11. Reposition the engine mount bracket from engine mount.
  12. Important: Note the position of the guide pin (1) when removing the engine mount.

  13. Remove the engine mount.

Installation Procedure

    Important: Ensure the engine mount guide pin (1) is installed in to the guide hole in the engine front crossmember frame.

  1. Install the engine mount.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the engine mount lower nut.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the engine mount lower nut to 55 N·m (41 lb ft).

  5. Reposition the engine mount bracket.
  6. Install the 3 engine mount bracket bolts
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the engine mount bracket bolts to 55 N·m (48 lb ft).

  8. Lower the vehicle.
  9. Use the J 28467-A to lower the engine to the original position.
  10. Remove the J 28467-A .
  11. Raise the vehicle.
  12. Install the engine mount upper nut.
  13. Tighten
    Tighten the engine mount upper nut to 40 N·m (30 lb ft).

  14. Lower the vehicle.
  15. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.

Removal Procedure

  1. Install the J 28467-A to support the engine.
  2. Slightly raise the engine to release tension on the mount.

  4. Remove the engine mount lower nut.

  6. Remove the engine mount bracket nuts.
  7. Remove the engine mount bracket.

  9. Remove the engine mount.

    Tighten the engine mount lower nut to 55 N·m (41 lb ft).

  8. Lower the vehicle.
  9. Use the J 28467-A to lower the engine to the original position.
  10. Remove the J 28467-A .
  11. Raise the vehicle.
  12. Install the engine mount upper nut.
  13. Tighten
    Tighten the engine mount upper nut to 40 N·m (30 lb ft).

  14. Lower the vehicle.
