The floor bucket seats are equipped with headrest restraints which are adjustable and can be released by the two tabs located at the base of headrest restraint. The drivers seat comes standard with a power seat recliner and 8-way power seat adjusters. The passenger seat comes with the following standard components:
• | The power height adjuster |
• | The power recliner |
• | The manual seat adjusters |
The optional passenger seat comes with a power seat recliner and 8-way power seat adjusters. Both seats are also equipped with manual lumbar supports and heated seat and seat backs. The driver's seat is equipped with a three-way memory feature. The front seat is secured to the floor by nuts and washers in which it retains it to the anchor plate studs. The seat adjuster trim covers are installed over the front and rear anchor plate studs. The power seat adjuster and memory switches are located on the front seat cushion outer finish panel. |
The front power seat control switch has a time out feature after the door has been opened the seat memory module has to see ignition power within thirty seconds are it will time out. The door will have to be reopened to use the memory switch without using ignition power. The seat adjustments are made using the control switches which are located on the front seat cushion outer finish panel. The seat is adjusted using four power actuator motors. The actuator motors are driven by the seat memory module. The seat memory module receives input from the seat control switches. The seat can be moved in any direction. Refer to Seat Adjuster Control Switch seat adjuster control switch.
After replacement of the memory module or of one of the actuator motors which have potentiometers the memory module must be programmed.
During programming all of the seat motors are run through their full travel to allow the values for the potentiometers and the end stops to be programmed.
During programming the driver's seat and all other seats must not be occupied because during programming there is no pinch guard.
To program the seat memory module refer to Memory Seat Description .
The drivers seat and the inside and the outside mirrors are combined into each memory setting. The seat memory module controls these functions.
Important: If memory module control has been replace it must be reprogrammed using scan tool. Refer to Memory Seat Description .
Up to three users can program their individual seat and mirror positions and call them up as required. To store the adjustment positions place the drivers seat, inside rearview mirror and outside rear view mirror to the desired position. Press the memory switch (M) and the relevant position switch (1,2 or 3) simultaneously.Once the memory setting are programmed the inner and outer mirrors and the driver's seat it will return automatically to their programmed positions when the appropriate memory position switch (1, 2 or 3) is pressed. The outer mirrored can be electrically adjusted using the power mirror switch but the new position will not be stored in memory unless the memory is reprogrammed.
The anti-submarining switch prevents the driver or passenger seat from tilting too far forward which could allow the occupant to slide under the seat belt in the event of a accident.
This switch is installed in the seat which interrupts the current feed to the seat inclination adjustment actuator motor as soon as the seat height at the front is 10 mm (0.4 in) lower than the rear.
