The driver's seat is adjusted by four different motors. Three of these motors are located underneath the seat and the fourth motor is located in the seat backrest. Each motor is equipped with a position sensor. These position sensors report the current seat position to the driver seat adjuster memory module. The position sensors are used by the driver seat adjuster memory module to store and recall the three different seat positions.
The driver seat adjuster memory module is located underneath the driver's seat. The driver seat adjuster memory module controls the entire memory system. The driver seat adjuster memory module stores all data, such as end stops and position data. The position of the driver's seat can be programmed into the driver seat adjuster memory module by using the memory key and any one of the personal keys, which are located on the driver seat adjuster switch.
Once the memory positions are stored into the driver seat adjuster memory module, the personal keys can be used to activate the driver's seat. When one of the personal keys is pressed, the driver seat adjuster memory module activates the motors in the driver's seat to move the seat to the pre-programmed position.
When the ignition switch is turned to the OFF position, the driver seat memory module will be on standby for approximately 30 seconds. After the 30 seconds, the driver seat adjuster memory module will be disabled. When any door is opened and then closed, the driver seat adjuster will be enabled for approximately 30 seconds after the door has closed.
