Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the front seat. Refer to Seat Replacement .
  2. Remove the outer finish panel from the front seat cushion. Refer to Seat Cushion Outer Trim Panel Replacement .
  3. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the seat memory module.
  4. Remove the seat adjuster bolts.

  5. Object Number: 246348  Size: SH
  6. Remove the seat adjuster with the actuator motors attached.
  7. Remove the 3 driveshafts from the actuator motors and the seat adjuster.

  8. If you remove the inner seat adjuster, also remove the seat belt buckle pretensioner.
  9. Remove the nuts from the seat adjuster actuator motor.
  10. Remove the seat adjuster actuator motors from the seat adjuster.

Installation Procedure

  1. Adjust the seat adjuster phase. Refer to Seat Adjuster Phase Adjustment .

  2. Object Number: 246348  Size: SH
  3. Install the seat adjuster actuator motors to the seat adjuster.
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the nuts to the adjuster actuator motor.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the motor nuts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  7. Install the seat belt buckle pretensioner if removed.
  8. Install the seat adjuster with the actuator motors attached.
  9. Install the 3 driveshafts back into the actuator motors and the seat adjusters. Properly phase the seat adjuster before installing the driveshafts.

  10. Install the adjuster bolts.
  11. Tighten
    Tighten the adjuster bolts to 25 N·m (19 lb ft).

  12. Connect the electrical connectors to the memory module.
  13. Install the outer finish panel to the front seat cushion. Refer to Seat Cushion Outer Trim Panel Replacement .
  14. Install the front seat. Refer to Seat Replacement .
  15. If the vehicle is equipped with memory seats, calibrate the seat. Refer to Memory Seat Calibration .
