Power Windows Inoperative Battery Saver Function

Was the Power Window System Check performed?

  1. Disconnect LH front side door window switch connector C2.
  2. Use the DMM to measure the resistance between terminal A of the LH front side door window switch connector C2 (male) and a known good ground.

Is the measured resistance less than the specified value?

2 ohms

Go to Step 4

  1. Disconnect RH front side door window switch connector.
  2. Use the DMM to measure the resistance between terminal 5 of the RH front side door window switch connector (female) and a known good ground.

Is the measured resistance less than the specified value?

2 ohms

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 5

  1. Close all the doors.
  2. Use the DMM to measure the resistance between terminal 9 of the LH front side door window switch connector C1(female) and a known good ground.

Is the measured resistance within the specified value?

OL

Go to Step 8

Go to Step 6

  1. Locate a open or high resistance in circuit F22.
  2. Repair the open or high resistance in circuit F22.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 9

  1. Locate a short to ground in any of the door open signal circuits.
  2. Repair the short to ground in any of the door open signal circuits.
  3. If these circuits are OK, replace the offending side door jamb switch Door Jamb Switch Replacement Door Jamb Switch Replacement in Doors.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 9

  1. Locate an open or a high resistance in circuit F23 or F25.
  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in circuit F23 or F25.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 9

Replace the LH front side door window switch. Refer to Window Switch Replacement - Console in Instrument Panel and Console.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 9

  1. Connect the disconnected connectors.
  2. Verify that the power windows operate properly.

Do all of the power windows operate properly?

--

System OK
