Circuit Description

Internal defects in the sun roof actuator will set DTC 50, 51 or 55.

Conditions for Setting the DTC

Sun roof actuator hardware failure (EEPROM, RAM or ROM are defective).

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

DTC 50, 51 or 55 will set and the sun roof actuator will become disabled.

Conditions for Clearing the DTC
    • DTC 50, 51 or 55 will clear when the fault is no longer present.
    • DTC 50, 51 or 55 can be cleared by using the scan tool.

Diagnostic Aids

Replace the sun roof actuator.

Test Description

The number(s) below refer to the step number(s) on the diagnostic table.

  1. This step replaces the sun roof actuator.

    2.

  2. This step programs the sun roof actuator and also checks for any codes that may be present.

Replace the sun roof actuator. Refer to Sunroof Actuator Replacement in Roof.

Is the replacement complete?

Go to Step 3

  1. Program the sun roof actuator. Refer to Power Sunroof Operation .
  2. Operate the sun roof through all of the available settings.
  3. Install the scan tool.
  4. Check for DTC 50, 51 or 55.

Are there any DTC's present?
