Power Seat Inoperative in One Direction Driver Front Height Motor Inop

Did you perform the Power Seats System Check?

  1. Disconnect the front height seat adjuster actuator motor connector.
  2. Use the DMM in order to measure the voltage between terminal 1 and terminal 2 of the connector on the switch side while pressing the forward and backward switch.
  3. Terminal 2 is B+ and terminal 1 is grounded if the front height up switch is pressed.
  4. Terminal 1 is B+ and terminal 2 is grounded if the front height down switch is pressed.

Is the measured voltage at the specified value?

B+

Go to Step 6

  1. Disconnect the submarine switch connector C2 ( black wire ).
  2. Ensure that the seat is not tilted too far forward.
  3. When the seat front height is down too far in relation to the seat rear height ( tilted too far forward ) the submarine switch will open and no voltage will reach the front seat-down switch or the rear seat-up switch.
  4. Use the DMM in order to measure the voltage between terminal 1 on the submarine switch C2 male connector and ground.

Is the measured voltage at the specified value?

B+

Go to Step 7

Use the DMM in order to measure the voltage between terminal 1 on the submarine switch C1 connector male side and ground.

Is the measured voltage at the specified value?

Replace the submarine switch. Refer to Anti-Submarining Switch Replacement

Replace the front height seat adjuster actuator motor. Refer to Seat Adjuster Front Vertical Actuator and Rear Vertical Actuator Replacement .

Replace the driver seat adjuster switch. Refer to Power Seat Switch Replacement .

  1. Connect all connectors and components that were disconnected.
  2. Verify that the driver seat front height seat adjuster actuator motor operates properly.

  1. Disconnect the rear height seat adjuster actuator motor connector.
  2. Use the DMM in order to measure the voltage between terminal 1 and terminal 2 of the connector on the switch side while pressing the forward and backward switch.
  3. Terminal 2 is B+ and terminal 1 is grounded if you press the front height up switch.
  4. Terminal 1 is B+ and terminal 2 is grounded if the front height down switch is pressed.

Is the measured voltage at the specified value?

B+
