Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the front seat. Refer to Seat Replacement .
  2. Remove the outer finish panel from the front seat cushion. Refer to Seat Cushion Outer Trim Panel Replacement .
  3. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the seat memory module.
  4. Disconnect the electrical connector from the anti-submarining switch.
  5. Remove the seat adjuster. Refer to Power Seat Adjuster Mechanism Replacement .

  6. Object Number: 246347  Size: SH
  7. Remove the anti-submarining switch (1).
  8. Unhook the anti-submarining switch from three places on the inner seat adjuster: two at the top of the seat adjuster and one at the bottom.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 246347  Size: SH
  1. Install the anti-submarining switch.
  2. Important: Attach the anti-submarining switch at all three places on the seat adjuster or the seat may tilt too far forward during a collision, allowing the occupant to slide under the air bag.

  3. Hook the anti-submarining switch to three places on the inner seat adjuster--two at the top of the seat adjuster and one at the bottom.
  4. Install the seat adjuster. Refer to Power Seat Adjuster Mechanism Replacement .
  5. Connect the electrical connector to the anti-submarining switch.
  6. Connect the electrical connectors to the seat memory module.
  7. Install the outer finish panel to the front seat cushion. Refer to Seat Cushion Outer Trim Panel Replacement .
  8. Install the front seat. Refer to Seat Replacement .
  9. With the seat in the vehicle, verify that the anti-submarining switch arms move up and down with the seat adjuster.
