Was the Content Theft Deterrent System Check performed?

Using the front side door lock switch, lock and unlock the doors.

Do the power door locks operate properly?

--

Go to Step 3

Go to Power Door Locks Inoperative - All Doors and Switches .

  1. Install the scan tool.
  2. Select BODY CONTROL MODULE.
  3. Select Inputs and then DOOR LOCK SWITCH.
  4. While observing scan tool, lock the doors (use appropriate switch that failed the system check.)

Does the scan tool display ON?

Cycle the door lock switch several times to check for a possible intermittent malfunction.

Was a problem found?

--

Go to Step 6

  1. Disconnect connector C1 from the Body Control Module (BCM).
  2. Inspect terminal A08 for a poor connection.

Was a poor connection found and repaired?

--

Go to Diagnostic System Check - Theft Deterrent .

Go to Step 7

Locate and repair intermittent malfunction between door lock switch and BCM. For additional troubleshooting procedures refer to Power Door Locks in Cell 130.

Is repair complete?

Go to Diagnostic System Check - Theft Deterrent .

  1. Check all power and ground circuits to BCM
  2. If OK, replace the BCM. Refer to Body Control Module in Section 8D of the service manual.
