- Install the scan tool.
- Select BODY CONTROL MODULE.
- Select MISCELLANEOUS TEST from the Output Control menu.
- Select SECURITY TELLTALE.
- While observing the Security Indicator Lamp, press the ON key
on the scan tool.
Does the Security Indicator Lamp light?

| Use the scan tool to cycle the ON and OFF key.
Does the status change when cycling the ON/OFF key?

- Check all the power circuits to the BCM.
- Check all the ground circuits to the BCM.
- Replace the BCM if the circuits are OK and if no poor connections
were found. Refer to Body Control Module.

- Disconnect the BCM connector C2.
- Disconnect the connector from the Gauge Cluster.
- Using DMM J 39200 on the ohms scale, measure the resistance
in circuit XP840, between terminals C06 of the BCM and 23 of the Gauge Cluster.
Is the resistance within the specified value?
| Less than 5 ohms

- Remove the Gauge Cluster.
- Inspect the security indicator bulb.
- Inspect the printed circuit.
- Repair as necessary.
