Was the Wiper/Washer System Check performed?

  1. Disconnect the windshield wiper/washer switch.
  2. Use a DMM in order to measure the resistance between terminal 53A and terminal W of the windshield wiper/washer switch while holding the mist switch in the ON position.

Is the measured resistance within the specified range?

Less than 5 ohms

Go to Step  3

Go to Step  4

  1. Locate an open or a high resistance in CKT FA4.
  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in CKT FA4.

Is the repair complete?

Replace the windshield wiper/washer switch. Refer to Windshield Wiper and Washer Switch Replacement - On Vehicle in Steering.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Reconnect all of the components and the connectors that were disconnected.
  2. Verify that the windshield washer pump and the windshield wipers operate properly when the windshield wiper/washer switch is in the MIST position.
