Removal Procedure
  1. Place the seat in the full forward and upright position.
  2. Remove the lower the center pillar trim. Refer to Center Pillar Upper Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
  3. Remove the front seat track rear trim screw.
  4. Remove the front seat track front trim by unsnapping.
  5. Remove the carpet retainer. Refer to Carpet Retainer Replacement in Interior Trim.

    6. Object Number: 168490 Size: MH
  6. Remove the bolt from the driver seat retractor belt lower.

    7. The bolt is located in the center lower pillar to rocker.

  7. Remove the screws from the upper center pillar trim panel.

    8. The screws are located in the upper center pillar trim panel.

  8. Remove the driver seat retractor belt upper bolt from the front seat shoulder belt height adjuster. Refer to Seat Belt Height Adjuster Replacement - Front
  9. Remove the screws from the front seat belt shoulder guide.

    10. The screws are located under the upper center pillar trim panel.

  10. Remove the bolt from the driver seat retractor belt.

    11. Don't remove the front seat shoulder belt height adjuster when you service the seat belt retractors.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 168490 Size: MH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the bolt to the passenger seat retractor belt.

    2. Tighten
    Tighten the passenger seat retractor belt bolt to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).

  2. Install the passenger seat shoulder belt height adjuster.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the passenger seat shoulder belt height adjuster bolt to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).

  3. Install the screws to the front seat belt shoulder guide.

    4. The screws are located under the upper center pillar trim panel.

    Tighten
    Tighten the front seat shoulder belt guide screw to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  4. Install the screws to the upper center pillar trim panel.

    5. The screws are located in the upper center pillar trim panel.

    Tighten
    Tighten the upper center pillar trim panel screws until fully seated and not stripped.

  5. Install the bolt to the passenger seat retractor belt lower.

    6. The bolt is located in the center lower pillar to rocker.

    Tighten
    Tighten the passenger seat retractor belt lower bolt to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).

  6. Install the carpet retainer. Refer to Carpet Retainer Replacement in Interior Trim.
  7. Install the front seat track front trim.
  8. Install the front track rear trim screw.
  9. Install the lower the center pillar trim. Refer to Center Pillar Upper Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
  10. Place the seat in the full forward and center position.
