Removal Procedure
  1. Disable the SIR system If equipped with the SIR side impact system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in Restraints.
  2. Remove the front door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
  3. Remove the front door water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .
  4. Remove the Inflatable restraint side impact sensor mounting plate if equipped. Refer to SIR Sensor Mounting Plate Replacement - Front Door .

  5. Remove the front door check link to pillar bolt and nut.

    6. Object Number: 243303 Size: SH
  6. Remove the front door check link to inner door bolts.
  7. Remove the front door check link from the door.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 243303 Size: SH
  1. Install the front door check link to the door.

    2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  2. Install the front door check link to inner door bolts.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the front door to check link bolt 5 N·m 45 (lb in).

  3. Install the front door check link to pillar nut and bolt.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the front door check link to pillar nut and bolt to 5 N·m 45 (lb in).

  4. Install the Inflatable restraint side impact sensor mounting plate if equipped. Refer to SIR Sensor Mounting Plate Replacement - Front Door .
  5. Install the front door water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .
  6. Install the front door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
  7. Enable the SIR system If equipped with the SIR side impact system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in Restraints.
