Removal Procedure
- Disable SIR, if equipped with Inflatable restraint system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in Restraints.
- Pull up on the lock knob in order to expose the orange tab.
- Pry out on the orange tab with a screwdriver in order to release the knob. Discard the orange tab.
- Remove the bezel screw.
- Remove the bezel from the trim panel.
- Remove the assist handle and cover. Refer to Assist Handle and Molding Replacement - Front Door
- Remove the power lock switch. Refer to Door Lock Switch Replacement
- Remove the courtesy lamp. Refer to Door Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.
- Remove the trim panel screws.
- Lift the trim panel upwards in order to release from the clips.
Installation Procedure
- Install the trim panel on the clips.
- Install the trim panel screws.
- Install the courtesy lamp. Refer to Door Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.
- Install the power lock switch. Refer to Door Lock Switch Replacement
- Install the assist handle and cover. Refer to Assist Handle and Molding Replacement - Front Door
- Install the bezel to the trim panel.
- Install the bezel screw.
- Install the lock knob
- Insert the new orange tab into the slot.
- Push the knob into position.
- Enable SIR, if equipped with Inflatable restraint system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in Restraints.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten the bezel screw until fully seat but not stripped.
