Removal Procedure
Caution: Gasoline or gasoline vapors are highly flammable. A fire could occur
if an ignition source is present. Never drain or store gasoline or diesel
fuel in an open container, due to the possibility of fire or explosion. Have
a dry chemical (Class B) fire extinguisher nearby.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Relieve the fuel system pressure. Refer to
Fuel Pressure Relief

- Drain the fuel tank. Refer to
Fuel Tank Draining
.
- Raise and suitably support the vehicle.
- Remove the Fuel tank. Refer to
Fuel Tank Replacement
.
- Disconnect the Fuel Tank Pressure sensor electrical connector.
- Remove the fuel feed and the return lines from the fuel sending
unit. Refer to
Servicing Quick Connect Fittings
.
- Disconnect the Fuel Tank Pressure sensor from the sending unit.
Installation Procedure
- Clean any of the contamination from the sensor mounting area.
- Install the sensor on the sending unit.
- Reconnect the sensor electrical connector.
- Connect the fuel feed and return lines to the fuel sending unit.

- Reinstall the fuel tank. Refer to
Fuel Tank Replacement

- Lower the vehicle.
- Add fuel to the tank.
- Tighten the fuel filler cap.
- Connect the negative battery cable.
- Crank the engine for a few seconds.
Turn off the engine if the engine starts.
- Check for any fuel leaks.
