- Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
- Ground the memory seat diagnostic connector:
• | The connector may be taped into the body harness. |
• | The module beeps once in order to acknowledge entrance into the
mode 1 diagnostics. |
- Operate the DRIVER-1 and the DRIVER-2 recall buttons and the memory
set button on the left seat/lock switch. (The module beeps once for each
switch input received.)
- Any time a switch is operated and the module does not beep, the
module did not receive the input from that switch.
Are there any switch operations where the memory seat/mirror does not
beep?

- Remove the ground from the memory seat diagnostic connector, then
ground the connector again within 5 seconds:
• | The module beeps twice in order to acknowledge entrance into the
mode 2 diagnostics. |
- Operate the seat switch and the power mirror switch in all directions.
(The module beeps once for each open or short circuit to a position sensor
or any position sensor discontinuity.)
- Any time a switch is operated and the module beeps, the module
senses a problem with the position sensor.
Are there any switch operations where the memory seat/mirror module
beeps?

- Disconnect the memory seat/mirror module connector C1.
- Use a J 39200
digital multimeter (DMM) to measure the voltage between the following switches
and ground while operating the switches:
• | D5 - Memory select switch position 1 |
