Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the wiper arms. Refer to Windshield Wiper Arm Replacement .
  2. Remove the air inlet grille panel from the vehicle. Refer to Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement .
  3. Remove the transmission drive link socket from the wiper motor crank arm using the J 39232 .
  4. Pull two retainers from the wiper motor connectors.
  5. Disconnect two harness connectors from the wiper motor.
  6. Remove two screws, the stud, and the wiper motor from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the wiper motor onto the vehicle with two screws and one stud.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the screws and the stud to 15 N·m (132 lb in).

  3. Install the two harness connectors on the wiper motor.
  4. Install two retainers onto two harness connectors.
  5. Install the transmission drive link socket onto the wiper motor crank arm using the J 39529 . Ensure that the socket is fully seated onto the crank arm.
  6. Install the air inlet grille panel onto the vehicle. Refer to Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement .
  7. Install the wiper arms. Refer to Windshield Wiper Arm Replacement .
