Did you perform the Lighting System Diagnostic System Check?

Go to Step 2

Go to Diagnostic System Check - Lighting Systems

  1. Turn the ignition to the ON position.
  2. Place the headlamp switch in the PARK position.
  3. Press the front fog lamp switch to the ON position.

Are the front fog lamps on and the front fog lamp indicator on?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections

Go to Step 3

Are the front fog lamps on?

Go to Step 4

Go to Fog Lamps Inoperative

  1. With the front fog lamp switch to the ON position.
  2. Backprobe the front fog lamp indicator supply voltage circuit of the front fog lamp switch with a test lamp that is connected to a good ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 5

Test the front fog lamp indicator supply voltage circuit for an open or high resistance. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems?

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 9

Go to Step 7

Test the front fog lamp switch ground circuit for an open or high resistance. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems?

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 9

Replace the underhood junction block. Refer to Underhood Electrical Center or Junction Block Replacement in Wiring Systems.

Has the repair been made?

Go to Step 9

Replace the front fog lamp switch.

Refer to Fog Lamp Switch Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges, and Console.

Has the repair been made?

Go to Step 9

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.

Did you correct the condition?

  3. Press the rear fog lamp switch to the ON position.

Are the rear fog lamps on and the rear fog lamp indicator on?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections

Are the rear fog lamps on?

Go to Step 4

Go to Fog Lamps Inoperative

  1. With the rear fog lamp switch to the ON position.
